Seton Lodge, 205 Church Street, Tranent. Situated at the north end of Church Street, at the entrance of Fowlers Street sits Seton Lodge. 205 Church Street is a fine example of an early nineteenth century cottage. The entrance of the building is protected by a pretty porch, whose finial is an insurance mark. The two garden entrances feature an armorial cartouche mounted over a gateway to one side and a pointed arch incorporated in the wall to the other. The property comprised of house, garden, greenhouse, stable and shed which were utilised by a succession of gardeners including William Reid, Jnr, who owned the property from the 1930s until it was converted into house and gardens only. |
