HelmetThis home service pattern helmet dates from around 1880, and was part of the uniform of the Haddingtonshire Rifle Volunteers. The Rifle Volunteers were the forerunners of today's Territorial Army. Companies were formed in many towns and villages in East Lothian between 1860 and 1868, including Haddington, Gifford, Aberlady, East Linton, Dunglass and North Berwick. |
