P & P will be charged at £1.50 per package for print outs and single CD’s. For larger items the P & P will be set after discussion.

Reproduction fees for publications, exhibitions and other public use
If you are publishing a book or making a film, video or television broadcast, developing web based resources or an internet site or using photographs in a talk we may have the photographs you need. We reserve the right to charge reproduction fees for any public use of the collections in addition to the cost of the images and any copyright fees the copyright owner may wish to charge.
Charge: £40 per item.
In addition to payment a copy of the publication should be supplied to East Lothian Council Library Service.
Reproduction fees may be waived for educational or academic use, and at the discretion of the Principal Museums Officer.

Some of the images supplied by East Lothian Council Museums Service from the museum collections, including those supplied for a specific commercial purpose, may be re-used for non-commercial purposes under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 Scotland License. Terms and Conditions for Image Reproduction
The following standard conditions apply to the granting of authority to reproduce images. Other conditions, applicable to individual cases may be appended. No application for authority to reproduce images will be considered without a signature on the relevant form, confirming acceptance of these conditions.
1. The supply of photographs held by East Lothian Council Museums Service does not in any way imply the granting of authority to reproduce copies, in any form, for any purpose except as allowed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 Scotland License (see http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.5/scotland/). Authority for reproduction for any other type of publication, broadcast or exhibition must be obtained by completing an application form.
2. The museum reserves the right to deny authority to reproduce any image at its discretion.
3. Charges made for reproduction will take into account factors such as the purpose of the licence, the distribution of the publication and the type of organisation seeking the licence. The current scale of charges is detailed here but may be varied at any time, without prior notice. If requested, a formal quotation, binding for a period of one month, will be given.
4. Payment of an agreed fee will give the purchaser the non-exclusive licence to reproduce the image, in the agreed manner only, for a single print run (or production, as appropriate). Reproduction rights for television are for a single showing of the programme. A larger or repeated print run/production or broadcast may be subject to repeat fees.
5. The authority to reproduce given by payment of these fees extends only to the initial applicant. The authority does not imply any right to the purchaser to authorise subsequent reproduction by a third party other than under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 Scotland License.
6. Payment may be made by cheque, on receipt of invoice, in pounds sterling payable to “East Lothian Council”. Authority to reproduce the image is dependent upon receipt of full payment.
7. In addition to the reproduction fee, a copy of the publication is also required.
8. Copyright will be retained by East Lothian Council or other copyright holder as indicated in the acknowledgments.
9. Unauthorised reproduction will infringe copyright and may render the infringer liable to civil penalties. Where works of art are still within copyright, it is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain permission to reproduce the work from the holder of the copyright.
10. You must ensure that any caption relating to the image used is correct and reflects the description mentioned in the form. An acknowledgement of the source of the image should be made on every occasion of publication in the form: “Courtesy of East Lothian Council Museums Service” unless otherwise stated. The acknowledgement shall be made in such a way that it can be identified with the individual image to which it applies.
